Relationships, Sex and Health Education

RSHE or Relationship, Sex and Health Education is taught in-line with guidance from our Diocese of Nottingham and the Department of Education. Throughout the year, all classes will be following Ten : Ten scheme to ensure coverage of the curriculum.

On our policy page, or the link below you can find our full policy, which clearly shows how each part of the expectations of the curriculum is met through our Ten : Ten , PSHE, Come And See and Science curriculum, with the Gospel Values at the heart of everything we do.

All of the members of staff who teach Relationships and Health Education have received training through the Catholic Education Service and some members of staff have received additional Diocesan training facilitated by the NRCDES.

In Years 5 and 6 parents are informed of when the RSHE sessions will take place and what they entail, with the opportunity to ask questions. Parents have the right to withdraw their children from them these sessions.  A chance to view the materials is available at the parents’ information workshop prior to the lessons being delivered.
