Art and Design: Blocked Creative Curriculum
Our curriculum is designed carefully to ensure at least National Curriculum coverage and progression in key skills.
At St Charles, we use a ‘Blocked Curriculum’ model for selected Foundation Curriculum Subjects. Art and Design is taught as part of our Blocked Curriculum.
Through blocking the curriculum in these subjects, children receive a more focused and immersive learning experience; one which enables their knowledge to become more deeply embedded as part of our knowledge-led curriculum.
This helps to fosters deeper engagement and purpose for Art and Design tasks, giving children specific knowledge in these areas.
Further information on our Art and Design Curriculum , including the current topics, can be found below and in the half-termly newsletters sent home to each class.
