Art and Design: Blocked Creative Curriculum

Our curriculum is designed carefully to ensure at least National Curriculum coverage and progression in key skills.

At St Charles, we use a ‘Blocked Curriculum’ model for selected Foundation Curriculum Subjects. Art and Design is taught as part of our Blocked Curriculum.

Through blocking the curriculum  in these subjects, children receive a more focused and immersive learning experience; one which enables their knowledge to become more deeply embedded as part of our knowledge-led curriculum.

This helps to fosters deeper engagement and purpose for Art and Design tasks, giving children specific knowledge in these areas.
